小早川隆景は戦国～安土桃山時代の武将で、小早川家の養子となり、第14代当主となりました。毛利元就の三男として生まれた隆景は毛利軍の指揮官として活躍し、小早川氏の当主として中国地方に領地を広げました。最初は織田信長や豊臣秀吉と対立していたが、後に忠誠を誓い、秀吉の家臣になりました。 秀吉は隆景に中納言の称号を与え、また彼を五大老の一人に任命しましたが、1597年に秀吉より先に亡くなりました。

Kobayakawa Takakage was a feudal lord of the Sengoku and Azuchi-Momoyama periods. He was the third son of Môri Motonari, was adopted by the Kobayakawa clan and became the 14th clan head. He became a commander of the Môri army and as the head of the Kobayakawa clan, he expanded the clan's territory in the Chûgoku region. Takakage was at first opposed to Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi, but later he swore loyalty and became a retainer of Hideyoshi. Hideyoshi gave Takakage the title of Chûnagon and also appointed him to the Council of Five Elders, but he died before Hideyoshi in 1597.
