マージンが大きく、 雲母による光沢と空摺が施されたこの版画は摺りも保存状態も頗る良好です（出版人 小林鉄次郎）。
本来なら緊迫した状況であるにもかかわらず、時宗と五郎丸の対照的でありながら落ち着いた表情や、見る角度によって煌めく雨などで、むしろ静けさが際立っており、異様な雰囲気を醸しだしている。このような劇的なシーンの描き方で、芳年の類いまれな才能がとても感じられます。
A very good early impression of this print (published by Kobayashi Tetsujiro), in a very good state of preservation, with full margins, and embellished with mica and embossing. When you look at the print from a different angle, the numerous lines and dots representing the rain glisten.
Yoshitoshi made this tragic scene atypical indeed. In this action scene, Tokimune and Goromaru have different facial expressions which surprisingly convey calm.
