渓斎英泉の「江戸八景」は天保14年～弘化4年に刊行された大判横絵8枚の揃い物です。この作品には、江戸時代から桜の名所として知られていた上野が描かれ、吉祥閣や、秋色桜という枝垂桜が有名な清水観音堂で多くの人が花見を楽しんでいる様子が見られます。夕日を表現する色合いが特徴的な一枚と言えます。版元　山本屋平吉（栄久堂）

“Eight Views of Edo” is a series of eight large-format horizontal prints published between 1843 and 1847. This work depicts Ueno, which was known since the Edo period for its cherry trees. It shows a large number of people enjoying themselves at Kisshokaku, in the center, and Kiyomizu Kannon-do on the right, famous for the weeping cherry tree known as the "autumn-colored cherry tree." The choice of colors expressing the setting sun contrasts with the usual image of spring and refers precisely to the colors of autumn. Published by Yamamotoya Heikichi.

« Huit Vues d'Edo » est une série de huit estampes horizontales grand format publiées entre 1843 et 1847. Cette œuvre représente Ueno, qui était  connu dès l'époque Edo pour les cerisiers. On y voit un grand nombre de personnes se divertissant au Kisshokaku, au centre, et au Kiyomizu Kannon-do sur la droite, célèbre pour les fleurs du cerisier pleureur connu sous le nom de « cerisier aux couleurs d'automne». Le choix des couleurs exprimant le soleil couchant tranche avec l'image habituelle du printemps et renvoie justement aux couleurs d'automne.
